I <3 My Car

  • Jul. 9th, 2009 at 10:54 AM

Now that I have my license, I'm thinking of cars. And when I have the money, I'm going to get this kinda car.

I would like a convertible but I the vintage beetle convertible doesn't look good. I'll get to ride in a convertible in Rachel's car anyway so whatever. Anyhow, I'll get one of those and paint it a nice creamy sunny sort of yellow. Equip it with those cool sports gears and power engines and matching leather upholstery. My radio will be on permanent Gold90 and I'll wear cute 50s clothes everyday. Like I said, I think I was born in the wrong era.

(Side note. I think these are really cute!

Especially the cutting of the bottom part of the swimsuit. I really want one! Anyone knows where to get one?)

But if I don't have the money, I think I might just settle for a Mini. (Woah as if Mini very cheap like that. Hahaha)

In yellow! Yes yes yes! + Convertible. Ooh love it love it.

But if all else fails and I really don't have even $100k to spare for a mini, I'll just go for the cheaper alternative. The Suzuki swift!

So yea! If anyone feels rich enough to get me a car for my next birthday, I'll be happy to have anyone of these. I don't ask for alot unlike someone who wants a luxuuurrriieeeouuss Lexus. Heh.

Still can't believe Michael Jackson has passed away. Was watching his memorial service and it felt so surreal...

Surprise find over the weekend

Ning Baizura - In Another Life

Pardon the cheesy MV and listen to her.

All this time I've always thought that song was sung by Mariah Carey or one of those powerhouses. But no! In fact she's a singer from our friendly neighbour Malaysia! I think she has amazing talent and wonder how come I've never heard about her until now. It's always a nice surprise when you discover such talent so near home. Like in south-east asia. Great voice. Timeless song. :))

Cute or Ugly?

  • May. 5th, 2009 at 3:05 PM
I don't know whether you agree with me but I think these creatures are pretty cute.

1. AXOLOTL

Its so cute right! It looks like some soft toy or alien creature of Stephen Chow's or something. Its a kind of Mexican neotenic mole salamander. How did it make the Top 10 Ugliest Creature list on Listverse I have no idea. Look at how it looks like it is smiling up at you, with its cartoony one line smile and two dots for eyes.

2. TARSIER

Omigosh those eyes will totally put Puss in Boots to shame. It is totally achieving that kind of wide eye innocent cute that many lians (no matter how hard they try to pry their eyes open and tilt their chin low low) fail to do so. + those eyes make the Tarsier look like its hiding a secret from you. Mischievous!

3. CYCLOPS KITTEN

Okay this isn't actually a "creature" but more like a genetic mutation. The kitten was born with only one eye and no nose. And it only survived one living day. But look at it! How cute is that? One huge eye on its head, and pinkish ears and mouth and feet. And so tiny too! Cuuuute!

And my most favourite cute/weird creature is....

 4. BLOBFISH

HAHAHA. How hilarious is this!!! It looks NOTHING like a fish! More like a caricature of some sad looking pitiful old man. It is so sad looking its cute! I burst out laughing when i first saw this creature and went "Wth?! This cannot be real!!". But I googled it and yup. Real as the pimples on my face. And omg it is "primarily a gelatinous mass". Like jelly-like. No wonder the pitiful expression. Aw. Cute isn't it!

There you go. And since I like doing polls so much, I shall make a poll for fun!

I hate getting sick

  • Apr. 29th, 2009 at 9:59 AM

I woke up this morning to the London Choco Roll jingle playing in my head. I didn't even realise it was stuck in my head until i got up, went to the toilet and started peeing.

My nose is semi-blocked. My throat feels dry and raw and terrible. I think I'm coming down with flu.

Urghh. I hate being sick!

I realised my butterfly photos didn't really tell a story well. You can try to find the storyline if you will.

Hope you liked it! :)

Big Bird

  • Apr. 23rd, 2009 at 3:37 PM

On Wednesday, a ginormous bird flew over where I stayed.

I tried to catch it but it turned into water.

------------------------------------------------------------

Found a butterfly that looked like this.

Will try taking some photos with it before I try to preserve/bury it. I'm very excited! Its my first picking up such a pretty butterfly. :))

This is like the first time in 3 years that I am actually taking the bus regularly. I really enjoy bus rides especially on those non air-conditioned buses. The feeling of wind blowing at your face, slapping you when the bus drives really fast, hair blowing in the wind... I really like that. And the old school charm of the metal rails on the window and stuff. Good photo opportunity! I should go take photos on non air-con buses someday.

I really like my hair flying in the wind. Makes me feel very free and pretty. :D

My first attempt at digital painting

  • Dec. 24th, 2008 at 4:03 PM

Dress inspiration came from a talk with Rachel. Hair inspiration came from a model in the newspaper.

I was alittle tired at giving the colours shade and all that so the dress and stocking and hair and necklace were just one flat colour. Hmm.

What do you think?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a side note, I've got a job relief teaching primary kids. At the time I called the school, I was pretty desperate to get a job so I told them I could teach both English and Chinese languages. Now they want me to teach language. I just hope I'm not teaching chinese. I don't want to do harm to these innoncent primary kids.

I was writing my cv and looking through my certs for stuff to put in and I realised that every year, without fail, I'll always be the one representing my class for those English speech competitions. I have the whole set! From Sec 1's story-telling to Sec 4's Plain English Speaking Competition. Hmm.

I'm very very free and available at the moment and would really like to look for a job to kill time.
If anyone needs an emcee for any event (birthday parties, dinners, weddings etc.) you can contact me. Just leave a comment or send me an email at kinquesim@gmail.com. I'm pretty good! You can ask about my previous emceeing stints too! :D

Hokay! Its back to my cv for now.
